A Modified Switched-Capacitor Based Seventeen-Level Inverter With Reduced Capacitor Charging Spike for RES Applications

This paper presents a grid-connected system for renewable energy source (RES) applications. The proposed consists of modified switched-capacitor (SC) based multilevel inverter and DC-DC flyback converter. By using the converter voltages DC-link capacitors are adjusted to same values. SC-based has benefits like limited capacitor charging spike, reasonable size, power density, cost per output power, active reactive support, injected current grid, reduced number input DC supplies. Two isolated sources generated supply increase voltage levels produced at output. In this topology, one most important problems switched capacitor, i.e., occurrence inrush currents during capacitors, is solved by circuit unit that an inductor with parallel diode in capacitive path. To confirm performance presented structure, comprehensive experiments comparisons provided. experiments, peak control (PCC) method applied both into grid 17-levels inverter.
